I went prepared to be underwhelmed by the Taj Mahal simply because it seemed overhyped. I was even ready to dismiss it as just another crowded, decaying relic of the cruel past. But when I came face to face with the Taj, it humbled me. It reminded me how insignificant and imperfect I was by comparison. As it stood perfect in its pristine white, it didn’t mock me or dismiss me. It merely presented itself. And in its sobriety, it revealed to me my own vanity. Wah Taj!
