Walking through the streets of Garli, a little village in Himachal Pradesh, one can spot many grand and regal doors. Many of these doors lead to expansive havelis owned by Soods (an affluent merchant class).
Some doors are still well painted and maintained. But instead of all those exquisite doors, this rather unfortunate one caught my attention. Neglected by its owner, it stood in solemn dignity, unkempt but still erect, bearing neither a name plate nor an address, but just a message -
What man neglects, nature reclaims.
